1. No I don't care now he is gone but the Dems accused of similar or worse are still in their seats. If the Republicans knew about him so did the Democrats, it is all just political smear tactics used by the Democrats or they would have said something earlier. they are going to step in it and won't be able to scrape it off their shoes or get rid of the smell of their crap tactics.
2. you are right. this is not a political issue. it is a legal and Moral issue. let the law handle it and the church. politics should not concern itself with these types of moral issues ( wait, are you a liberal/ you sound like one.) I heard the congress is a political body and the page system is part of the congress and the molester is a cngressmean so maybe there are some proper political considerations. wwas the hosue majority and other eladers doing their jobs well as elected to do when they allowed this to go on uninvestigated for a year or more after getting the word that a congressman that they knew was gay, and they knew his constituents did NOT know he was gay, was being "too friendly" with a mail page and breaking rules. 7. NO and I'm about one of the strongest Republicans out there. When my silly friends question me about why we are in Iraq, I tell them because that we are there to fight terrorism darn it! Of course they ask me the tough questions if I know anyone that is actually in Iraq and they seem to think my argument is somehow diminished because no one of my group would ever end up there. 10. Of course not. Republicans are not likely to be swayed by this incident. It's the Dems that are suddenly offended. Apparently, if you're a Republican you have to live to higher standard then the Democrats do. That translates to me (a independent) that as long as you admit you have no standards you don't have to do the right thing. True as that may be, I will not vote for a party with no standards.
11. The issue is not just what Foley did, but what did Hastert and the rest of the Gop leadership do or not do. Apparently Hastert and the GOP leaders knew that he was doing this for possibly years and had not only allowed it to go on, but allowed Foley to chair the Exploited Children committee!?!?! Talk about a lack of leadership. The entire GOP leadership of the House needs to be thrown into jail for aiding and abetting a felon. And Dems are not slaughtering Foley for being " Gay" as someone stated here. Gays are not pedophiles. Pedophilia is something entirely different and can be straight also.
